Jori Pea Pod Zan was born in 1973. She grew up on the Santiam River in Gates, Oregon. Jewelry was her passion at only 8 years old. By 16 she had 24 piercings on her ears and 2 in her nostril. She then convinced a couple of her friends to let her pierce theirs as well.
In 1993 she was blessed to attend her first Fakir Musafar’s Body Piercing Intensives. She pierced in her friend Colie Green’s eclectic clothing shop, The Velvet Underground from 1994-96, then opened on Center st as Jori Zan’s Boutique in 1996-2001. She attended Fakir’s Advanced Body Piercing Intensive in 1997. January 29th, 2002 she opened Jori Zan’s Body Piercing, Inc. at the 2376 State st location where she solely pierces today. She audited another class in 2005 when Fakir asked her to help instruct the class along side of him and the other Instructors. This is one of her greatest honors to have pierced with this master and these brilliant colleagues, at these 5 day piercing Intensives for over a decade.
After 30 years of piercing, she still enjoys empowering all the people and helping them adorn their beautiful bodies safely! Besides loving her lil dog Zumi, she enjoys gardening, riding her bike, ecstatic dancing, hot springs, listening to music while cleaning, organizing, and absolutely anything to do with jewelry! Jori is an exciting person to be around, and she treats everyone like her friend.
